About Us
Community Trust Bank is a community bank serving northwest Georgia with locations in Paulding and Cobb counties. We are a full service bank offering a wide variety of personal and business services, and are now proud to offer Investment Services!
Even though our services have been enhanced by technology such as the Internet, we pride ourselves on maintaining our personal touch. We know our customers and can meet their needs quickly because our decisions are made locally – not by out-of-state strangers.
Board of Directors
William A. Foster III has served as Director of the Bank since 1988 and has served as Chairman of the Board of the Bank since April 1994. He previously served as Chairman of the Board from April 1990 to April 1991. Mr. Foster served as District Attorney for the Tallapoosa Judicial Circuit of the State of Georgia from 1978 until 1992. Since 1992 he has served as a Judge of the Superior Court for the Tallapoosa Circuit and semi-retired in 2006. Bill was born and raised in Paulding County, and lives in Dallas with his wife.
J. Calvin Earwood has served as a Director of the Bank since 1988 and has served as Chairman of the Board from April 1989 to April 1990. Mr. Earwood has been owner and President of Sunbelt Fasteners, Inc. in Dallas, Georgia since 1983. He also has served as Chairman of the Board of Oglethorpe Power Corporation since March 1989, as Vice Chairman of the Board of Oglethorpe Power Corporation from March 1984 to March 1989, and as Director of Oglethorpe Power Corporation since 1981. Additionally, he has served as Director of Greystone Power Corporation since 1977. Calvin and his wife live in Dallas, Georgia.
George J. Berry has served as a Director of the Holding Company (CTFS) since he was appointed by the Board of Directors in May 1997. He has served as a Director of the Bank since he was appointed by the Board of Directors in August 2000. Mr. Berry has served as Senior Vice-President of Cousins Properties Inc., a real estate development firm, since April 1990 and retired from Cousins in 2005. Mr. Berry has served as a Director of ASA Holdings, Inc. since May 1998. Prior to April 1990, Mr. Berry served as Commissioner of the Dept. of Industry, Trade, and Tourism for the State of Georgia. He also served as Chairman of the Metropolitan Atlanta Olympic Games Authority from 1993 to 1996. George and his wife live in Forsyth, Georgia.
R. Alan Bullock has served as a Director of the Bank of the Holding Company (CTFS) since its organization in October of 1988 and he returned to service as a Director of the Bank in August 2000, after serving as a Bank Director from 1987 until September 1996. He served as Chairman of the Board of the Company and the Bank from April 1991 to April 1992. Since 1985, Mr. Bullock has served as a Senior Partner of Bullock, Terrell and Mannelly, a company based in Atlanta, Georgia involved in industrial development, real estate finance and market, and property management. In June of 2001, he changed his company to Bullock, Mannelly Partner which also operates in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born and raised in Paulding County. Alan lives in Atlanta with his wife.
James R. Parker has served as a member of the Board of Directors since June 1997. Mr. Parker retired from SunTrust Bank in 1994 where he was Vice-President/lending. Mr. Parker was co-owner of FBR, Inc. in Fayetteville, Georgia from 1995 until 2000. He is employed by Gloves, Inc. since 2000. Russ lives in Douglasville, Georgia with his wife.
Richard A. Hunt is President, CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of GB&T Bancshares, Inc. and its lead bank, Gainesville Bank & Trust. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors of United Bank & Trust in Polk County, Georgia; Community Trust Bank in Paulding and Cobb Counties; the First National Bank of Johns Creek in Forsyth County; and Alliance National Bank in Dalton, Georgia. Mr. Hunt has over 35 years of commercial banking experience. He graduated from Georgia State University in Atlanta and the Graduate School of Louisiana State University. He has served his local community and the State in numerous leadership positions, currently including the Board of Directors of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. Richard and his wife reside in Gainesville,
Ronnie L. Ray is owner/President of Etowah Engineering & Surveying, Inc. since June of 1985. Etowah is a company specializing in civil engineering, land surveying and land planning. Etowah employs 22 people. Mr. Ray is a native Georgian. Some of Mr. Ray’s memberships include being the past chairman of the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce, past president of Rotary Club of Paulding, on the Board of Directors of Paulding County Builders Association, has also served on the Board of Directors for Chattahoochee Technical College, a Trustee at the Paulding Hospital and on the Board of Directors for Wellstar Health Care of Paulding County. Special accomplishments include Associate of the year for Paulding county Chamber, Rotarian of the Year and Business Leader of the year all for Paulding county. Ronnie and his wife reside in Dallas.
Randy Taylor was elected to the board of directors at its meeting held October 19th, 2004. He had previously served as the Senior Lender for Community Trust Bank and started his employment with the bank in July of 2003. Previously, he worked as a Senior Vice-President Business Banker at Wachovia Bank. Randy has over 27 years of banking experience. A graduate of Georgia College and State University with a BA in management and also a graduate of the LSU School of Banking of the South in Baton Rouge, LA. He is very active in the community which includes the Cub Scouts, Chamber of Commerce, outreach programs and in his church. Randy resides in Marietta with his wife and three children.
